What we send

One thing: a six-digit sign-in code, sent when you ask for one. Cotterpin has no passwords — you sign in by entering your mobile number and the code we text you. We do not send marketing, promotions, surveys, or announcements by text, and we never will from this number.

How you opt in

Your employer adds you to their Cotterpin account and enters your work mobile number. No message is sent at that point. You receive a text only after you open Cotterpin yourself, type your mobile number into the sign-in box, and tap Send me a code. The consent notice appears on that screen, directly beneath the button. Tapping it is the opt-in, and nothing else in Cotterpin triggers a text message.

How often, and what it costs

One message each time you request a sign-in code — for most crews a few times a month. Cotterpin does not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping messages, and getting help

Reply STOP to any message and we will send nothing further to that number. Because the code is how you sign in, stopping messages also means you will not be able to sign in to Cotterpin on that number until you reply START. Your number

We use your mobile number to sign you in and to identify you to your employer inside Cotterpin. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Cotterpin does not share mobile information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. It is passed to our messaging provider only to deliver the sign-in code you asked for, and to nobody else.
