Mobile information and messaging consent
Cotterpin does not share mobile information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone.
What we collect
- Your name and mobile number, entered by your employer when they add you to their Cotterpin account. The number is how you sign in and how your co-workers see who has a machine.
- Your email address, if your employer provides one.
- What you do with equipment — checking a machine out, returning it, logging hours or a service, reporting a fault, and any photos or notes you attach. These records belong to your employer.
- Location, only when you attach it to a scan or a check-out, and only if you allow it in your browser.
How we use it
To sign you in, to show your employer and co-workers who has which machine and what has been done to it, and to notify people about equipment they are responsible for. We do not use any of it to advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of you.
Text messages
Cotterpin texts you a one-time sign-in code when you request one, and nothing else. Your mobile number is passed to our messaging provider solely to deliver that code. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Cotterpin does not share mobile information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Who can see your information
Your employer, and the co-workers they give access to. Each company's records are kept separate from every other company's. We use service providers to run Cotterpin — hosting, database, file storage and SMS delivery — and they may process your information only to provide those services to us. We disclose information otherwise only where the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting it
Equipment records are kept for as long as your employer keeps their Cotterpin account, because a machine's service history is the point of the product. Your employer can revoke your access at any time. To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, write to jeff.short@capconmt.com. If your employer holds the records, we will pass the request to them.
Children
Cotterpin is a workplace tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
